Exciting River Regatta is planned F.O.R. October

Jemma Bohlar, 2011 Sweeny Pride Day Queen, stands next to the Duck Race first prize – a custom golf cart. Jemma lives on the San Bernard and is the daughter of Dakota and Donna Schroeder. Also, she is the recipient this year of a $1,000 Friends Of the River scholarship award.
 
The 2012 FOR Regatta fundraiser has been set for Sunday, October 21. Expect a fun-filled time on the San Bernard with great events and super prizes. All funds raised benefit the San Bernard River.
 
New this year is the River Regatta Duck Race that features little yellow ducks, each numbered to correspond to a raffle ticket number, that "race" down the San Bernard to the finish line at Dido’s restaurant. When you buy a duck ticket ($20 each), you’ll have a chance to win one of following four great prizes.
 
  • The top Duck Race prize is a custom golf cart that features a fold-down back seat for carrying items, lift kit, custom paint and custom tires.
  • Second prize is a $1,000 travel voucher aboard Carnival Cruise Lines.
  • Third prize is a LG 42” LCD HD TV and fourth prize is a Kindle eBook-eReader. (Photos of prizes.)
 
Stop by the FOR booth at Brazoria's No-Name Festival, June 8 & 9 to view the custom golf cart and buy tickets. You gotta be fast cause they won't last.
