Sep 20, 2019, The mouth of the San Bernard flows into the Gulf. The oening is extremely shallow but has widen somewhat from the effects of last week’s 18 - 20 inches of rain dumped on coastal areas of the watershed from tropical storm Imelda. Lots of standing water still remains in shallow areas. Barge traffic moves along on the east to west Intracoastal Waterway with the village of River’s End located just above. Freeport is in the far right of photo just below the horizon.

Sep 20,2019. Small waves encircle the river delta of silt deposited at the mouth of the Brazos River. A line between the green water of the Gulf and the silt-laden water of the river shows at the bottom of photo. Wolf Island, next to the mouth, holds water from Imelda’s rain waiting to drain off. The San Bernard River is located four miles, as the gull flies, southwest of the Brazos River.
