The sign in front of the old McCoy's building on CR 521, half mile east of the McNeil bridge over the San Bernard, says "Bottom Dollar" but the bargains are free!. Inside the building, prospective FOR board member, Kevin Henry, has arranged a donation collection site of nonperishable food items, toiletries, baby items and clothes for men, women, children and infants, linens, cleaning supplies and household items. Outside, free hot meals are provided. Times are 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and will be at that location for the next few days. Updates as they come.
UPDATE: Kevin Henry reported at the FOR annual meeting on Sat Sep 16 that a total of 10,00 meals were served, $7,500 cash raised, and 50 volunteers showed up every day to help. Congratulations for a job well done! Also congratulations being elected as a Director to the Friends of the River San Bernard organization!
