Trash Picked Up on FM 2611
Posted on Sep 14th, 2013
Sixteen (50 gallon-size) bags of roadside trash were collected from the mile of road preceding the Churchill Bridge and the mile after on Saturday morning, Sep 14th. FOR San Bernard has an agreement with TxDOT to pick up trash on a quarterly basis. FOR owes a big thanks to all the hard-working volunteers that provided a positive change to this trash strewn roadway next to the San Bernard.
"Special thanks to all our trash tossin' Texans who make the Adopt-A-Highway program a necessity... there would have been more but the grass and weeds were too high to see it all...state agencies did not release rainy-day funds to tend our roads and roadways." –George Zwicker, Chairman, FOR Adopt-A-Highway Committee
“I am blessed to have such a great group as well. You guys do a wonderful job for the community in more ways than one...Sorry our mowers are not allowed to mow as often as necessary instead of just 3 times per year. You guys have enough obstacles along the roadway without the tall grass hiding things. Thanks for all of your hard work!!” –Carol Davis, Motor Carrier Division Director, TxDOT
