Do you fix the best gumbo on the River – here's your chance to prove it!
River Regatta Gumbo Cook-off

Join the creative competition among cooks in serving up your version of spicy-rich gumbo in the FOR River Regatta Gumbo Cook-off on Sunday, October 21. Register now to compete! The entry fee is $20 per pot of at least two to five gallons of gumbo (cooked rice will be provided). Enter one of these categories – seafood, non-seafood and vegetarian versions. Bring ready-to-serve to Dido’s on the river, 2922 CR 519, by 12:30 p.m. on event day, Sunday, 21Oct12. Judging starts at 12:45 p.m.

After the judging, Regatta-goers will get a chance to sample the different varieties of gumbo along with samples of craft beer starting at 1:00.m. Food tickets are $10.

 

The winner of each category will be awarded a Gumbo Cook-off chef duck trophy, shown on the left. Gumbo Cook-off  ENTRY FORM print and mail. Deadline is Sunday 14Oct12. Don’t miss the other River Regatta events – Paddle/Power competition from 11:30-2:30 pm, Lil’ Duck Race of 1,000 duckies arriving approx. 2:00 pm, Live Cajun music and live auction at 3:00 pm on Sunday, 21Oct12 at Dido's, on the banks of the San Bernard.
