Join in the fun of one of the 2012 River Regatta competitions – power or paddling on Sunday, October 21. The power category includes all power watercraft from bowriders to bass boats, ski boats to jet skis. The paddling category includes all human-powered crafts from canoes to kayaks, stand-up paddle boards to pedal boats. Vessels of all pedigrees and proportions.
Register from 11:30-12:30 p.m. at the FOR Community Center and buy a signature card for $10 that is turned in later for a playing card hand at Dido’s on the river. You’ll receive a map of your destinations to collect your signatures. Best hand wins! There’s no finish line, as it is not a race. Take your time and enjoy the San Bernard with good time and good people.
Power boaters will head down river to their four checkpoints. Paddlers put in at the FOR Community Center and travel up river three miles to collect one signature at the turn around-point then back to the Community Center. Trophies and gift certificates are awarded for the best hand.
Don’t miss the other River Regatta events that day - the Lil’ Duck Race of a thousand duckies “racing” down the San Bernard, tasting of a gumbo cookoff and craft beer with live Cajun music and a live auction.
