River Style Progressive Dinner Held
Posted on Sep 27th, 2011
Progressive dinner diners were, l. to r., Barbara Lackey, Ron Conklin, Ken Lackey, Dianna Conklin, Dennis Northon and Kim Northon, buyer of the progressive dinner.
No, the progressive dinner is not a political event but one of the most popular and unique F.O.R. auction items at the 2011 River Regatta fundraiser. The winning bidder and guests, transported by water taxi, are served a progressive meal at various homes located on the San Bernard.

Last year's River Regatta progressive dinner was purchased by Kim and Dennis Northon. Recently, they invited family members to accompany them to the dinner that was held at four homes on the river. Menu for the first stop included champagne, caviar, shrimp cocktails and other appetizers. The group then moved on to the second home where they were served salad and shrimp corn soup. With waistbands gradually tightening, the diners traveled to their next home where San Bernard river crab cakes and grilled vegetables on jasmine rice were served. Wine accompanied each meal. The last water taxi ride cleared their heads (and stomachs) enough for dessert. River House coffee and delicious Italian cream cake finished off the progressive dinner.
Make plans to attend the upcoming upcoming 2011 River Regatta fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 29. It’ll be a day of fun on the San Bernard. Consider bidding on the progressive dinner auction item–it’s a ton of fun and food!
