The Dredge Report - 24 Aug 21
Posted on Aug 25th, 2021

Tue Aug 24. A discharge pipe with red buoys attached curves around from where it is attached to the dredge and heads toward the Gulf. It is kept in position by the smaller boat pushing it. The pipe carries the sediment and debris dredged from the bottom of the river bed.

The discharge pipe churns out sediment and is positioned to the southwest or down drift side of the mouth. Freeport can be seen on the horizon.

The current flows from left to right in the photo, away from the mouth. Notice the Gulf water changes color as it passes the discharge pipe and picks up sediment flowing toward Sargent.
