Dolphin and Dredge
Posted on Aug 17th, 2021

Photo Bob Bailey 8-16-21
A curious bottlenose dolphin checks out the dredge currently working at the mouth of the river. This is a dolphin because porpoises do not occur in Texas waters. Dolphins are mammals because they are warm-blooded, have lungs not gills, give birth to live dolphins and produce milk for their young. They travel in pods and “squeak” to communicate. The best way to understand what dolphins are saying is to listen to their podcast.
