A burn at the refuge on Tue Oct 24, 2017

If you are looking in the direction of the Gulf and see something that looks like this on Tue Aug 27th, don’t panic and run to your basement (if only we had basements) to hide, thinking it’s an environmental catastrophe, no, it’s the Texas Mid-coast fire crew conducting a prescribed fire on San Bernard National Willdlife Refuge (NWR). The burn is 413 acres and is south of CR 306 and east of CR 457 and west of FM 2918 . The burning will start around 0900 till 1600.

Note: Thanks to Brazoria County Commissioner Davis Linder for sharing this information about the prescribed fire.
