In case you have not seen the website that lists The Mouth of the San Bernard River Restoration Project, it’s on Gulf Spill Restoration (a website maintained by NOAA on behalf of the Deepwater Horizon Resource Damage Trustees). Read the description and location map of the project (open Project Page).
FOR San Bernard is sending a justification letter to the Texas General Land Office and Texas Parks and Wildlife with new information about the benefits of tidal flushing on bacteria and dissolved oxygen levels.
If you have not already sent an email to the USACE regarding their permit to dredge the San Bernard River, read the article below “Show Your Support to Open the Mouth”. You still have time, the deadline is September 16, 2016.
Note: Remember, the final decision for reopening the mouth of the San Bernard comes from Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and not USACE!
