Hanson Park Boat Ramp Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Bird’s eye view of the new Hanson Riverside County Park boat ramp located 2.5 miles west of West Columbia just south of Hwy 35 and the San Bernard River.

On August 13, VIPs, political leaders, and guests witnessed the ribbon-cutting ceremony that officially opened the new boat ramp, a culmination of a goal set in 1987. Twenty-eight years later and six and a half months of construction, it's finished!

Friends of the River Bob Bailey and Mike Goodson, assisted by Tom Ronayne and Tom Folgerbrought their boats to the dedication.

After the ceremony, Friends of the River San Bernard treated guests to a two mile boat ride upriver to view the salt water dam. FOR also has budgeted for some needed area lighting.
 
 
FOR President Tom Ronayne presented Commissioner David Linder with a certificate of appreciation from the Friends of the River San Bernard organization.
