July Meeting Report

These reports are a way to let the public know what FOR’s been up to. It’s also a way that someone can determine if there is any way they’d like to get involved in things. - Sun Jul 24 Texas Stream Team Water Quality Test on San Bernard
H-GAC Texas Stream Team volunteer Denise Wolever uses a test kit to measure the physical and chemical parameters of San Bernard River. She tests off her pier six miles downstream from Churchill Bridge at CR 469. The test reports the pH level, salinity, temperature, dissolved oxygen and turbidity of the water.
- Wed Jul 20 CP Chemical "Non-Profit Fair", Sweeny Chemical Complex

Thanks to Secretary Sheila Wardlaw, V.P. John Swanson, Pres. Kirk Wardlaw and Director Jim Cooper for representing FOR at the Non-Profit Fair.
FOR participated in a Chevron Phillips Chemical hosted the "Non-Profit Fair". Employees were able to visit with the approximately 15 attendee groups to learn about the area non-profits they support and how they impact our community. FOR representatives chatted with over 150 employees and shared our stories and commitment to the river community. CPChem is a major sponsor of FOR.
- Sat Jul 2 Breakfast on the Bernard, Dido's Restaurant
Thirty-one folks attended the regular first Saturday of the month Breakfast on the Bernard. Announcements were made about the Patriotic Boat Parade happening later that day. Free water sampling kits were available for pickup by the FOR Environmental Committee for the upcoming Texas Well Owners Education and Well Water Testing Program at the FOR Community Center on Sat Jul 23rd.
