![]() July 4, 2019 Independence Day. Due to recent rains the mouth of the San Bernard, looking inland to the northeast, was close in color to chocolate only without the cocoa powder.

![]() July 4, 2019 Independence Day. Looking southwest out to the Gulf of Mexico, with the light coming from behind and reflecting off the water, the sand bar across the opening is visible. The old river channel branches off to the right. Dredging the mouth is hopefully planned for "Spring" of next year.
Note: In 2020, spring equinox falls on Thursday, March 19, marking the astronomical first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere.
