Gator Alert
Posted on Jul 1st, 2018

Photo Cathy Wardlaw
After a probable mishap with a barge, the carcass of an alligator was seen floating belly-up going downriver.
Gator sightings:
  • River's End
  • Riverview Ranch
Alligators have been seen on the river. Use caution if you own a dog (or a cat) that's the size of Minnie Mouse's pet Pekinese puppy “Fifi the Peke” that likes to stand on your river dock and bark at whatever. Gators are known to find them a tasty appetizer.

Gator Factoid - To estimate an alligator’s length (without actually putting a tape measure on him) convert the distance in inches from the tip of the nose to the eye ridge into feet. Ten inches is approximately a ten foot long alligator
