July Meeting Reports

- July 16, 2013 Congressman Randy Weber’s Office League City, Texas
Representing FOR at the meeting was Mouth Committee Co-chairs Nick Fratila and Mike Goodson and FOR VP Suzanne Goodson. Also attending the meeting was Dianna Kile with Congressman Weber’s office, Port Freeport, Texas General Land Office (GLO), US Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District and Commissioner Pct. 1 Dude Payne.
The meeting was held to develop a plan to seek funds related to the Deepwater Horizon spill that the state is to receive through the Gulf Coast Restoration Council. Congressman Weber wants to use these for the opening of the river mouth (see photo below) when they become available. We need have a shovel project ready when the money is received by the state. There is still an issue concerning which environmental studies need to be done. Congressman Weber's office will contact all regulatory agencies for a meeting to determine the exact studies to be done.
- July 6, 2013 Breakfast on the Bernard Dido's Restaurant
Fifty-one people attended the regular first Saturday of the month Breakfast on the Bernard, a casual social gathering for food, coffee and conversation.
