Mouth Update 6-22-23
Posted on Jun 24th, 2023

San Bernard Mouth, Thu Jun 22, 2023. A golden haze settles in as the sun sinks over the horizon and reflects on coastal waters. A small shallow stream from the San Bernard flows out to meet the waves in the Gulf. A couple of vehicles can be seen parked on the west beach. As peaceful as the scene looks, remember, the mouth is very shallow in places and constantly changing. Use caution when boating in the area.

Closeup of the vehicles parked on the beach that trekked from Sargent. The sand bar to the right of the vehicles looks like a sea monster with its mouth open ready to swallow them. The trip from Sargent calls for a 4-wheel vehicle and should be made only if conditions are right. Use caution when attempting the trip.
