River trash collected on Sat June 10th will be picked up by the county.
On Sat June 10th, Friends of the River (FOR) San Bernard cleaned a 30-mile stretch of San Bernard River that starts at the salt water dam a couple of miles above Hwy 35 west of West Columbia, to River’s End near the Intracoastal Waterway. FOR has been cleaning the river for a decade.

The FOR “PWC Clean Team Fleet” assisted in the annual river cleanup by collecting trash in the shallow narrower waters of the San Bernard River where the salt water dam catches upriver debris. Retrieving this trash is important because it travels downstream during a high water event.
