Boaters, decorate your boat on Thu July 4th and join join fellow boaters on Sat Jul 6th for the annual Independence Day boat parade on the river. This fun, informal parade is held annually where patriotically decorated boats gather at the FM 521 bridge and head down river to the Churchill Bridge, cheering watchers as they stream by.
Entrants gather at 3:30 pm just above the FM 521 bridge for the parade start. At 4:00 pm boats proceed downriver and end at FM 2611 Churchill Bridge.
It’s free! Organized by Friends of the River San Bernard, it does not require registration. All you need to do is show up and show off your red, white and blue decorations on your boat or personal water craft.
If you are not located on the parade route and want to view the parade, bring a lawn chair and come to the Friends of the River Community Center, 20450 CR 510-B, a mile south of the FM 521 bridge and watch the parade from there!
Please observe boating safety rules.
