ICW Flood Gates at Flood Stage

![]() The ICW flood gates on the Brazos River are closed to navigation to allow the flood water and debris of the Brazos to past through to the Gulf of Mexico and not enter the Intracoastal Waterway. The gates close when the level of water between the Brazos and the Intracoastal waterway reaches a difference of 1.8 ft and above or the river velocity reaches 7 mph.
