FOR Volunteers at Sargent Tournament of Heroes

The “Taste Buds” team assisted with setting up and serving food to veterans, fishing guides and event attendees at the Mike LeeBrons Lions Club Park in Sargent.
It was a busy weekend for the Friends of the River (FOR) San Bernard “Taste Buds” team at the Sargent Tournament of Heroes on Fri May 17th & Sat May 18th. The two day event is held at Sargent, Texas and celebrates heroes in service to our country by holding a fishing tournament geared towards providing American soldiers and veterans a short respite from treatment/recovery with a weekend of fishing, fun and good food.
Thanks to the San Bernard “Buds” who volunteered - Mike Goodson, Suzanne Goodson, Shelia Wardlaw, Claudia Pechacek, Mel Pechacek, Art DeTranaltes, Dana Hillis, Justin Hillis, Denise Wolever, John Swanson, Dana Swanson, Brittany Swanson, Cole Swanson and Colton Swanson.
Colton Swanson, grandson of FOR President John Swanson and the youngest member of the “Taste Buds” team, helped serve cookies. (And what a dream job that was…"one for you, one for me, two for you, two for me…")
