The mouth of the San Bernard River is almost closed except for a shallow channel into the Gulf. Use extreme caution if you try boating in this area as it changes continually.
Seen below the plane wing is a close-up of the sand bars that clog the channel inside the mouth. The Gulf is located to the left in the photo and upstream is to the right.
