Keep singing til Wednesday!

Still lots of water upriver...East Bernard is just now cresting from the most recent rain. Forecast for Hwy 35 is to drop from 7.5 ft to 5 ft by tomorrow and then level off there for a couple of days before slowly returning to normal levels a week from now. The upper section of a dock located two miles downstream from Hwy 35 surfaced this morning but it may be Monday before the lower sections reappear.

River cresting again near 13 ft. at Hwy 35 today. Another 1/2" of rain this morning brings the gauge at Hwy 35 to nearly 9" over the past week. With drier weather forecast now, (for encouragement, see below) the NWS prediction of falling river levels should be accurate but it will take a week or more to see normal levels again.

Supposedly it's “a glorious feeling to be singing in the rain” says the 1952 musical film…so keep singing as the weather forecast is rain until Wed May 26th. The river forecast has it rising back to the same level it was few days ago. Only then will we have “a smile on our face as we walk down the lane with a happy refrain just singin’, singin’ (NOT) in the rain".
