FOR Judges Sweeny Cook-Off Entries

 Waiting for an addition of tortillas, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, salsa and anything else you can think of, is a plate-full of fajitas grilled at the Sweeny Pride Day Cook-off.

 Judges included Ken Wright, Susan Bailey, Ross Wardlaw, Bob Bailey, Kirk Wardlaw, Mike Goodson, Suzanne Goodson, Valroy Maudlin and Adalia Maudlin. Wearing the crowns were Sweeny Pride Day Junior Queen and Sweeny Pride Day Queen Trinity Arredondo. Not pictured is Linda Wright taking the photo.

Ten members of the Friends of the River “Taste Buds” judging team gathered at 2019 Sweeny Pride Day on Sat May 4th to judge the cook-off fajitas entries. Judges tasted, nibbled and chewed away while rating the grilled meat on presentation, aroma, taste and tenderness. Total scores were tallied by official Sweeny reps relieving the judges of their mathematic abilities.
