Seen on the River: COE Survey Boat

 A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers boat was seen on Thu May 10th, slowly zigzaging back and forth up the San Bernard. It was performing a hydrographic survey to monitor local river conditions to provide information for marine traffic that navigates the San Bernard. Meanwhile, a swallowtail butterfly zigzags back and forth through the bright blooms of a bougainvillea. If you are on the river and meet the boat, please be courteous and give way to its course.
