FOR Judges Rate Sweeny Cookoff Ribs

 All fired up after sampling thirty rib entries, the “Taste Buds” judges, left, Brett McManus, George Harris, Linda Wright, David Roquemore, Ken Wright, Kirk Wardlaw, Susan Bailey, Bob Bailey, Vanessa Taylor and Nelson Taylor look forward to washing it down with a brewski perhaps.

 Ten FOR “Taste Buds” judges sampled barbecued rib entries at Sweeny Pride Day Annual Cookoff on Sat May 5th. As each officially numbered Styrofoam box arrived containing the entry, judges used categories of Appearance, Taste, Tenderness, Aroma and Presentation on a scale of one (inedible) to ten (excellent) to grade them. The judges left before the winners were announced with Ziploc baggies in hand, taking home their leftover samples, the reward for serving as a judge.
