Saturday's the day to roll out of bed and start with a hearty breakfast at the regular-first-Saturday-of the-month Breakfast on the Bernard, Dido’s Restaurant. Cost is $8 and kids under ten eat free. The coffee’s hot and so’s the conversation. Everyone's invited!
Then, when your breakfast kicks in making you feel turbo-charged, head on over to the nearby Churchill Bridge parking lot for the Adopt a Highway trash pick-up. It includes the mile either side of the Churchill Bridge. The State just mowed along FM 2611, so now is the time for the trash pick-up. Please volunteer and keep this section of highway free from litter.
If every person in Texas picked up just two pieces of trash every month, our highways would be completely litter-free in just one year. --Dontmesswithtexas.org
