Royalty on the River

England may have William and Kate but the San Bernard River has Jemma Bohlar, Sweeny Pride Queen. Jemma resides in the Lazy Oak Ranch subdivision and is the daughter of Dakota and Donna Schroeder, and the grand-daughter of Jim and Claudene Bohlar.
Jemma is a Junior at Sweeny High School and is the current Jr. Class President, National Honor Society Vice President, member of the Student Council, OMNI, Power Set, Statistician for the Varsity Baseball team, manager for the Varsity Volleyball team, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Co-editor of the Frisky yearbook, very active in the First Baptist Church in Sweeny while maintaining a 4.1 GPA.
The Pride Day contestants performed many community services and events. They held a Princess Camp for young girls, Bella Brunch with the Easter Bunny, plus a Meet and Greet at The Fountains in Sweeny . During a tea with the judges, they were interviewed one-on-one. The girls all competed in the Pride Day Pageant one week before the parade. Girls were judged on talent, poise, on stage questions and evening gowns.
