"We had the State Conference Call and meeting concerning the BP Oil Spill on Friday 5/14. There has, at this time, been no impact from the BP Oil Spill on the Texas Coast. The closest oil to the Texas Coast was 160 nautical miles away, at this time there was no models showing Texas Coast impact. The Texas General Land Office, US Coast Guard and Brazoria County will be monitoring the beaches closely for any sign of impact. There will be subsequent conference calls and meetings to keep up to date on the status of the BP Spill and potential of impact to the Texas Coast. We are at this time reviewing the ACP (Area Contingency Plan) to ensure that all information contained there in is up to date and correct.
