City of Brazoria WWTP Temporary Mitigation
Update Mon Apr 25, 2022
Mark Rudolph, Strand Associates, Inc.
- Mike Collard is no longer with the City of Brazoria. Please direct future inquiries to the City to Sheila Williams (City Manager).
- After some discussions with the grant administrator, the City has decided to pursue an Imminent Threat Waiver through GLO to cover the actions that have previously taken place at the WWTP. We are providing the required justifying documentation as needed, and I estimate that everything will be ready to submit to the GLO for consideration within the next two weeks. After they receive it, the GLO will review and make a final determination of what changes, if any, will be made to the City’s grant funding.
- The City continues to maintain operation of the rental and loaner aeration units, and is performing the necessary testing to monitor the quality of treatment in various locations around the plant. We will also be assisting with periodic review of this data to monitor any potential trends and help ensure that everything is healthy.
Note: As a follow up on conditions of the plant's discharge, FOR has asked City of Brazoria Mgr Sheila Williams for a periodic update from Derrell Travis, City of Brazoria Waste Water Supervisor, on the plant's performance, e.g., total suspended solids in the effluent.
