FOR College Scholarships Available

Scholarship applications will be submitted to these 14 high schools whose attendance zone is in the San Bernard River watershed: Bellville, Brazos, Sealy, Brazosport, Columbia, Sweeny, Columbus, Rice, Lamar Consolidated, Needville, Boling, East Bernard, El Campo and Wharton.
During the Fall of 2021, Friends of the River San Bernard Scholarship Program doubled their scholarship amount from $1,000 to $2,000. Scholarship recipients will now receive $1000 for the first semester and $1000 for the second semester of actual college tuition and book expense during their freshman year. Seniors must reside in or attend high school whose attendance zone is in the San Bernard River watershed. Applicants must demonstrate a direct connection between their career path and the betterment of the environment. It is their generation to whom the future health and well being of the San Bernard River watershed will be entrusted.
Applications must be received by April 15 and will be evaluated and winners selected by a Scholarship Committee.
