Remembering Departed Friends

  Sweet is the memory of departed river friends! Like the mellow rays of the setting sun, it falls tenderly, yet sadly, on the heart.

Recently a dearly loved friend and F.O.R. member left us here on Earth for his heavenly place. Buddy Kenneda, you will be greatly missed until we meet again. So many memories we shared during the early days, hard work, great fun and fellowship. Our little river will never be the same again. To his wife Eileen, our thoughts and prayers are and always will be, with you. Pat and Connie Webb

Buddy was a wonderful neighbor and great person. We miss his smile and sweet spirit. We have a saying in the Navy for times like this, “Sailor, rest your oars”.

Buddy loved the river, and everyone he met on it. He was, with me, one of the original 16 of the Organizing Committee of FOR. So many of you knew him, but none of you knew him before he had a devastating stroke in 1991. He was a dynamo of a man before the stroke, President and CEO of a national company. After, he was more vulnerable, and even more lovable, and so very loving to everyone he met.
