In Celebration of Arbor Day
Posted on Apr 29th, 2016

In celebration of today, Friday April 29th being National Arbor Day*, here is a photo of trees standing in the still flooded San Bernard River a half mile north of FM 1301, west of West Columbia. The photo was taken by Tom Ronayne riding his faithful Waverunner.

*J. Sterling Morton founded Arbor Day in 1875 with a simple idea of setting aside a special day for tree planting. This was in the then treeless state of Nebraska.
