Water level between bridges
Posted on Apr 25th, 2016

Thu Apr 28 2016

At 8:00 am, the water level between the FM 521 bridge and FM 2611 bridge is within its banks but slightly over some docks. Current speed is 1.7 MPH. Some debris is still floating downriver as people are clearing their docks of the trash left by flooding waters.

Note: Could the mud that coats the docks after a flood on the San Bernard be put to good use? Unlike baseball that has a quirky tradition of rubbing every baseball with “special mud” to make them easier for pitchers to grip, the San Bernard mud has just the opposite effect. Anyone who’s cleaned their dock of the layer of black ooze after a flood knows to be careful––it’s as slippery as ice!
