What's Heading Down the River

It’s been raining hard in places on the upper San Bernard watershed. Actual amount unknown. If you are a true weather geek here’s some data to help you or confuse you.

  • NOAA Hydrological Prediction Service  EAST BERNARD (50 miles upriver from FM 521 bridge), 7:00 am Thu Apr 21, river level 20.5 ft receding from a high of 28.45 ft. Flood stage is 17 ft. Record flood level 24.9 ft on 11/24/2005.
National Weather Service 8:56 am: The Flood Warning continues for the San Bernard River Near East Bernard * until Sunday evening...or until the warning is canceled. * At 0200 PM Wednesday the stage was 26.5 feet. * Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 17.0 feet. * Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Sunday morning.
  • NOAA Hydrological Prediction Service  BOLING (33 miles upriver from FM 521 bridge), 8:01 am Thu Apr 21, river level of 30.04 ft, forecast high of 39.1 ft on Fri Apr 22 then starting to recede. Flood stage is 18 ft. Record flood level 42.41 ft on 6/28/1960.
National Weather Service Apr 19, 12:46 pm: 
The Flood Warning continues for The San Bernard River Near Boling * until further notice...or until the warning is canceled. * At 0231 PM Wednesday the stage was 21.6 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and Major flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 18.0 feet. * Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 40.1 feet by tomorrow early afternoon then begin falling.
  • NOAA Hydrological Prediction Service  SWEENY (8 miles upriver from FM 521 bridge), 8:00 am Wed Apr 20, river level of 15.7 ft, forecast high of 21.5 ft on Sun Apr 24. Flood stage is 16 ft. Record flood level 23.9 ft on 10/23/1998. Note: this gauge is not an automated gauge, rather a visual reading of graduated markings on a pliling by the terminal operator at the Phillips terminal on the river near Sweeny
National Weather Service Apr 19, 8:56 am:
The Flood Warning continues for The San Bernard River near Sweeny * until further notice...or until the warning is canceled. * At 0800 AM Wednesday the stage was 15.7 feet. * Major flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 16.0 feet. * Forecast...Rise above flood stage by this afternoon and continue to rise to near 22.0 feet by Saturday evening.
 
OR IF YOU JUST NEED A VISUAL ... The river level is 1.5 ft above normal stage  on Thu April 21, 8:30 am (down from half-a-foot ft from yesterday), area located between the two bridges, FM 521 and FM 2611
