Each year, a popular auction item, a progressive dinner is featured at the October FOR fundraiser. The dinner consists of three couples, who purchased the dinner, being transported by water taxi to four riverside homes where they are served a different food course at each place. This is a true challenge to the participates, who, by the end of the dinner, have consumed an amazing quantity of delicious food and drink and have met some great river hosts.
A progressive dinner was held on Saturday, April 11th. At the first stop, appetizers were served by hosts Barbara and Nick Fratila. They had prepared Salata de Vinete (Romanian Eggplant Salad Spread/Dip), Cheddar Pinwheels and fresh vegetables for dipping and crackers.
Hosts at the second stop were Wendy and Jerry Monical and Nancy and Fred Kanter who served chilled Avocado Soup and Wedge Salad with Creamy Blue Cheese Dressing and Andouille Sausage.
Third stop was the entrée where hosts Erma and Larry Vacek served Crawfish & Shrimp Enchiladas, Rice Pilaf, Roasted Asparagus and toasted French Bread.
