Seen pushing a barge down river on March 28 is the tow boat M/V John T. McMahan. This vessel is an 1800 hp Hope built Cummins-powered tow boat built in the Dulac, Louisiana shipyard for Maryland Marine, Inc. whose headquarters are in Houston.
Going upriver, the barges are usually filled with domestic and foreign crude oil heading for the ConocoPhillips Sweeny Refinery terminal on the San Bernard. Going downriver, the barges carry transportation fuels.
