The schedule has been pushed back due to a dense layer of sand in the oxidation ditch/aeration basin. This dense layer of sand is requiring double the number truck loads originally estimated per square foot of basin. This is also going to double the cost of the sludge removal originally estimated. Mayor Stugart said he was going to inform the Brazoria City Council today and recommend that they approve his proposal for the additional funds to continue with the original plan of removing as much of the sludge as possible. Mayor Stugart felt confident Brazoria City Council would approve the funds so the above schedule reflects that. All the other items on the schedule are ready to go as soon as the sludge removal is complete.
It was agreed on the call today that in lieu of additional meetings costing everyone involved an hour of their day, the Strand Engineering will start issuing weekly updates on progress every Monday. If an issue arises that requires a meeting then it will be scheduled.
