Port Freeport Commissioners unanimously voted today to help finance maintenance dredging of the mouth once it is open. Talks continue with prospective industry partners as well. The cost will likely be split among the county and several others. If an open mouth becomes part of whatever fix is chosen for the Brazos west gate, the Corps of Engineers should be expected to chip in, too.
