Update: Mouth of the River

Recent rains have the water level elevated in the lower regions of the San Bernard that is trying to push through the closed mouth. Two barges can be seen in the upper left of the photo on the Intracoastal Waterway, traveling eastward toward the Brazos River Flood Gates located about 4 miles from the San Bernard. The river silted shut a second time in December 2012 after being dredged open in February 2009. Past history of the mouth.
