Pesky Bug Program Held

 Dr. Paul Nester, Extension Program Specialist Integrated Pest Management, Texas AgriLife Extension Service explained how to win the battle with fire ants.
The second of the Environmental Committee series of six programs, "Bugs That Bite, Sting and Chew", was held on Saturday, March 22 at the FOR Community Center. Forty attendees were treated to a two-hour program filled with a wide variety of information on how to deal with fire ants, mosquitoes and garden pests.
The next educational program is the "Gone Wild - Feral Hog Program" on Sat, April 26, 10 am - 12 noon. Mark Tyson, Texas A&M AgriLife will discuss feral hog control and management. New trap designs will be on display.

 Darrin Griffith, Brazoria County Mosquito Control District, discussed the county’s control measures, along with some do-it-your-self control measures.

Ed Barrios, Brazoria County Master Gardener and Master Naturalist, gave a presentation on insect identification in the garden and landscape.
