UPDATE: Boat Ramp to be Built at Hanson Park

The grant from Texas Parks & Wildlife has been received to build the boat ramp. The total project is $330,000, with $247,500 of that amount in approved federal funds through the Sport Fish Restoration Project. The project will include construction of a parking area, bulkheads, courtesy dock, lighting and signage. **
 Hanson Riverside County Park is a 35-acre wooded day-use park along the San Bernard River on SH 35 between West Columbia and Sweeny.
** Richard Hurd, Brazoria County Parks Director, spoke at a F.O.R. Board of Directors meeting on Thursday, July 12. He reported that plans for a boat ramp, to be built at the park, have been submitted to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As soon as the permit is received, the project will be opened for bid proposals. Grant money from Texas Parks & Wildlife is being used to build the ramp.
