Posted on Mar 22nd, 2011

March 18, 2011: Mouth of San Bernard River as it enters Gulf of Mexico looking north. Intracoastal Waterway crosses east and west in upper area of photo. Boaters should proceed with caution and slow speed when in this area due to the shifting conditions of the sand bars.

Great picture! Notice the sand bar forming just east of the old river entrance. It is very shallow and a deep channel has formed on the east bank. Boaters need to stay close to that side if they have any draft.
