Breakiron Receives Primeau Award

Bob Breakiron received the 2024 Primeau Memorial Award at the Sat Feb 24th FOR State of the River meeting. It was presented to Bob by Marie Breakiron 2012 FOR President and 2018 Primeau Award recipient.
The annual Primeau Memorial Award is presented at the annual State of the River meeting to the person whom FOR feels has significantly contributed toward the spirit and purpose of the FOR mission.
Bob Breakiron has been involved with Friends of the River even before its inception. He has participated in boat parades, river cleanups, etc. for many years. He is the long time FOR Community Center Committee Co-Chair tending to maintenance. Bob was actively involved in the City of Brazoria’s WWTP pollution discharge into the San Bernard. He talked to residents, met with city and TCEQ officials, bringing the most affected residents to meetings with the city and making public comments at city council meetings. Bob talked several times a week with FOR Directors about the status of the mitigation project status at the time.
