YesterYears on the San Bernard
Posted on Feb 3rd, 2019

If you are interested in past history of the San Bernard, be sure and read “YesterYears - 50 Years Ago” compiled from old archives in THE FACTS newspaper. It appears on page 4C, Sun Feb 3rd. It tells of the fight by citizens and Commissioner’s court to prevent pollution of the San Bernard in the year 1969.

On another historical note, 14 years later, in 1983, a sinkhole opened overnight at Boling, TX that borders the San Bernard and was the site of Texas Sulfur Co. drilling. Link: “A sinkhole opened overnight and swallowed two pickup trucks”.
