J&S Marine Service, who has a location on the San Bernard, was called. They brought a crane, loaded on a barge, that used a grappling claw to lift the truck out of the water.

Valentine’s Day isn’t always about falling in love, today it was about pulling a fully submerged pick-up truck from the bottom of the San Bernard River.

A towboat captain pushing a barge upriver to the Phillips 66 terminal noticed as it neared the FM 521 bridge, the vessel came in contact with an object under the water. The captain reported it to Phillips 66 company officials who sent a boat with an underwater detecting device to the area of the river near the FM 521 boat ramp. It was discovered that a truck was resting on the bottom of the river bed.

It has not been confirmed how long the truck was in the water – or how it ended up there – or whose the owner.

Note - Update: It was reported the truck had been stolen three weeks prior to being found in the river.
