Where oh Where Has the River Mouth Gone

Photographer Albert Smith, drove the beach from Sargent, Texas (12 miles to the southwest) to what was at one time, the mouth of the San Bernard River where it emptied into the Gulf of Mexico. It has been complelely engulfed by the sand from the Gulf. Efforts continue by Friends of the River San Bernard to reopen the mouth.
