Life Along the Banks: Deputy Dawg

Deputy Dawg Reggie
|
Reggie, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever, lives on the east bank of the San Bernard near the FM 521 bridge with owners, Mike and Suzanne Goodson. He is wearing his "Deputy Dawg" Halloween costume. (The chaps fit around his front legs so that when he walks, the arms move as if they are waving.) He takes his Deputy Dawg reputation seriously and maintains law and order on the river by protecting his yard from stray cats, squirrels and various river creatures.
There seems to be a resemblance between Reggie and old-timey cowboy Johnny Mack Brown. They both wear the same kind of hat. Brown starred in “Rustlers of Red Dog” and Reggie is a red (haired) dog.

Maybe we could talk Reggie into coming to the FOR State of the River meeting at Didos on Feb 23rd to sign "Paw-graphs".
