Incident on the River
Posted on Dec 29th, 2016

Yesterday, Dec 28th, Fred Kanter, the almost retired Brazoria County Pct. 4 Constable, heard on his police radio that a boat was circling driverless near the end of the San Bernard River, apparently the driver had been ejected from the boat. Figuring the Coast Guard would delay time in getting back with information, Fred called Tommy Davidson, a resident who lives nearby on the river and informed him of the situation.

Tommie jumped in his boat, went to the location and found the driverless boat. He searched both banks but could not find the driver. He went back to the Intracoastal Waterway and saw emergency vehicles at River’s End boat ramp. The man had apparently been rescued by a passing towboat. Tommie reported that he was ok.

A big pat on the back to Tommie Davidson, a member of our river family for his efforts (and the towboat captain who rescued the hapless driver).
