Barges on the River
Posted on Dec 18th, 2014

The last shipment by barge of large loop reactor equipment for the Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. expansion was seen this morning, Dec 21, heading up river for unloading at Pierce landing. Two twoboats, the Capt Leroy and the Jenny W. were pushing the barge.

It was followed shortly thereafter by a Phillips 66 towboat, the Kyle Shaw, pushing an empty barge to the Phillips 66 terminal. Both terminals are located approximately a quarter mile downriver from the FM 359 bridge. Recreational boaters use caution when approaching the barges.
